Why is the ability to track the position of my flight with FlightStats' Flight Tracker unavailable, inconsistent, inaccurate, etc.?

This question has a variety of answers:

  1. Your flight operates outside or has flown beyond our positional tracking network.
  2. Your flight is flying over a large body of water.
  3. The operator of your flight does not provide positional tracking information to us in a reliable way.
  4. Your flight is operated by an airline that we do not provide positional tracking information for (our coverage is not 100%).
