How can I quickly test the Alerts API?

Here are three options to quickly test the Alerts API:

1) Send yourself simulated alerts to your callback URL using the "Test your alert services with a simulated alert" tool on this page:

2) Email yourself a test alert if you set deliverTo=smtp://myemailaddress@example.com and then manually send what you received via email to your callback URL. You can do this from a custom command line script on your machine. You will need access to your server logs to see if the port you opened up is configured correctly to receive the data. If you are logging errors, make any necessary adjustments and repeat.

3) Set up a real flight alert monitoring for all events to maximize the number of callbacks. Pick a flight scheduled to depart soon and wait for the triggered events to hit your callback URL. You can create flight rules here:
